Assessment case study portfolio

Baseline & Endline Assessments

Three flagship assignments demonstrating indicator development, sampling, field coordination, analysis and programme-focused interpretation.

Selected assignments

Measurement designed around programme decisions

Each assignment combined an assessment question with proportionate analytical and reporting methods.

2021

The Impact of COVID-19 Response on RMNCH Services / Reproductive Health Care Service Provision in Sub-Saharan Africa

Organisation / context
Amref Health Africa | Kenya — Homa Bay, Siaya and Nairobi
Edward’s role
Lead Data Consultant

Assessment context

Baseline research on RMNCH and reproductive-health service provision during the COVID-19 response.

Methods / evidence use

Led quantitative and qualitative statistical analysis, supported analytical frameworks, indicators and sampling strategies, supported data-quality assurance, and interpreted findings for programme teams and stakeholders.

Methodological safeguard

Change and attribution are different questions

Baseline values establish initial conditions or indicator estimates; endline assessment examines later conditions and programme performance. Observed pre/post change does not automatically establish causal impact.

Proportionate interpretation

Attribution depends on study design, comparison structure, data quality and confounding. Findings are therefore interpreted within the strength and limitations of the available evidence.
